Privacy policy

The short version
- You can read this site without telling us anything about yourself.
- If you are a parent and join our mailing list, we keep your email address so we can send you our free printables and news about new books. That is all we use it for.
- We never sell or share your email address, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
- This site is for parents. Nothing on it collects information from children.
Who we are
Omar's World is a series of picture books by Omar Ismael. When this page says "we," it means Omar's World. You can reach us at hello@omars-world.com.
Our mailing list
What we keep: your email address, and the date you signed up and confirmed. The dates are a record that you asked to join.
What we send: first, an email asking you to confirm. You are not on the list until you click it. Then a welcome email with the free printables, and after that an occasional email when there is a new book or a new printable.
Who handles it: our mailing list is run by MailerLite, which stores the list and sends the emails for us. It does not use your address for anything else. You can read MailerLite's privacy policy.
Knowing whether emails are read: our emails include a tiny image that tells us whether an email was opened, so we can tell if they are useful. Most email apps let you turn off images, which turns this off too.
Leaving: click "unsubscribe" at the bottom of any email. If you would also like your address deleted completely, email hello@omars-world.com and we will delete it.
Children
The books are for children, but this site is for the parents and teachers who read with them. There are no forms, games, accounts or scores for children here, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone under 13. If you think a child has given us their email address, write to hello@omars-world.com and we will delete it.
Visitor counts
We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which tells us how many people looked at each page. It uses no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not identify you. Vercel, which hosts this site, also keeps the usual short-lived server records (such as IP addresses) to run the site and keep it secure.
Cookies
This site does not set any cookies.
Fonts
The lettering on this site is loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google to fetch it. See Google's privacy policy.
Links to Amazon
The "on Amazon" buttons take you to Amazon, where Amazon's own privacy policy applies.
Changes
If anything here changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
