For parents and teachers

What the books are like

  • For ages 3 to 7, and made to be read aloud
  • 40 pages: words on one side, a full-page picture on the other
  • Each book ends with a short glossary of the family words in the story, with how to say them
  • Each story stands on its own, so they can be read in any order

What each book is about

Omar Learns to Ride a Bike is about learning something hard: falling over, wanting to give up, and getting back on. It ends with bike safety tips and a page on taking care of your bike.

Talk about it: What is something you found hard to learn? What helped you keep trying?

The Big Show is about imagination and homemade fun, and about getting back up after you've been knocked down. It ends with an invitation to put on a show of your own.

Talk about it: What kind of show would you put on? What would you make for it?

For older children: the Beautiful Words workbooks

Beautiful Words is a pair of copywork workbooks for ages 7 to 12 — one for the Qur'an, one for hadith. Each page holds one short verse or saying to copy out by hand, a question to think about, and an "I did it!" box. 110 pages each, and they are written in.
